We are on the lookout for a talented DevOps engineer with a mastery of Kubernetes and cloud hosting, who will play a crucial role in architecting, implementing, and maintaining our deployment processes and cloud infrastructure. Your expertise will be pivotal in ensuring our applications' scalability, security, and reliability.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of Kubernetes-based container orchestration, enabling seamless deployment and scaling of applications.
  • Architect and optimize cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security in a multi-cloud environment.
  • Collaborate with our software engineering teams to define and implement CI/CD pipelines that automate deployment, monitoring, and scaling processes.
  • Implement best practices for infrastructure as code (IaC) using both, third-party tools as well as custom-built tools, to ensure consistent and repeatable deployments.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and other operational issues in both development and production environments.
  • Champion continuous improvement by evaluating emerging technologies and tools, and making informed recommendations to enhance our DevOps practices.
Team
  • The majority of our meetings are remote.
  • Tasks and workflows are organized via airfocus, Slack, and GitHub.
  • Project squads with rotating team members.
  • Kanban board for members who are currently not on a project squad.

Our frontend tech stack
  • React frontend with react-query for asynchronous state management.
  • Modular architecture with multiple extension packages that extend the core application managed in a monorepo for the frontend.
  • Typescript definitions for data fetching provided by the backend.
  • Separate repository for UI components.
  • React, NextJS, dnd kit, Turbo, Slate, Kubernetes, GitHub.
Our backend tech stack
  • Scala backend with akka-http, play-json, tapir for serving the API.
  • PostgreSQL as main database.
  • Redis for asynchronous event/task processing.
  • Kubernetes for infrastructure and deployment.
  • Golang for platform engineering.

Your profile
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a DevOps engineer with a strong emphasis on container technologies using Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in building tools with Go for platform engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud services, such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
  • Strong command of database administration (PostgreSQL) and data integrity management.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure as code (IaC) concepts and tools (FluxCD, Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (GitHub actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Travis CI).
  • Solid understanding of networking and security best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Nice to have: 
    • Experience in collaborating with backend engineers to develop and maintain backend services and APIs
    • Experience in backend development using languages like Scala or Java.
